This is a small collection containing genealogical material of the Baker Family. Contained within is a detailed family tree, and a journal filled with Baker family members, their dates of births, and sometimes deaths. There are also a few fiscal documents regarding the Baker family, such as a catalog of tailoring requests and their costs. Some materials have been removed and placed in the vertical file in the reading room.

Baker Family papers

The Baker Family papers document the personal and professional activities of Harry F. Baker and Catherine “Kitty” Baker and their children, Harry Jr., and Vaughn who lived in Salisbury, Maryland. The materials date from 1914-2013, with the bulk of the material, conveyed through photographs, dating from 1944-1955. Visually, the photographic images document the daily activities of the Baker Family, seen through the lens of Harry F. Baker. Also included, is a scrapbook and an expense book focusing on Kitty Baker’s art, Vaughn Baker’s Wicomico High School diploma from 1961 and an autograph book from 1955, an oral history by Harry F. Baker, and other ephemera. In addition, is genealogy research of the Baker Family, including manuscripts, a draft, ledger notes, and research notes by Vaughn Baker.

Family Bible Collection

Bibles donated to the Nabb Center, whether singly or as part of a larger collection, have been integrated into this collection. A variety of print editions spanning from 18th Century to 20th century are represented, as well as various religious denominations and types of Bibles. Most of the Bibles contain hand-written notations of family history – including births, deaths, marriages and baptisms-- for several surnames beyond the title. Some may contain additional clippings or other items and some Bibles do not contain any family information. Family Bibles held by the Nabb Center and not included in this collection are also referred to in the inventory. A partial transcription of the family history pages is available upon request (full transcription will be made available online soon).

Frank A. Baker Collection

The Frank A. Baker Collection contains contains ephemera from the production of "On Golden Pond" preformed by the Community Players of Salisbury. There are also passenger lists, and a travel guide regarding Frank Baker's travel for this performance. There are also certificates relating to Frank Baker, for appreciations and to teach about alcoholism. There are also photograph of family members of Frank Baker.

Frank Baker papers

This collection contains numerous mementos of Frank’s life, in newspaper clippings, photographs, awards, and a scrapbook. The scrapbook entitled “Sex Life of Adak” contains newsletters from his time in Adak, Alaska during his military career as well as comics of the time. A photocopy of the contents of the scrapbook is also included as well as a map of Adak. (The actual scrapbook can be found in box three.)There are awards and certificates from volunteer service, newspaper clippings from his volunteer career, and obituaries for his brother, his sister-in-law, and himself, as well as his birth certificate, and lease documentation for one place that he lived. The collection also contains a variety of play programs from the Community Players and three Playbills, from 1958, 1960, and 1961.
